
Sarveshwar Mahadev Temple, commonly known as Brahma Sarovar Temple, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Mythology says that Lord
Brahma used to worship Lord Shiva in this temple. During the battle of Mahabharata, temple used to get destroyed by war in the
daytime and reconstructed during the night, everyday.The temple is viewed best from Krishna Ghat during sunset. Setting sun's
reddish golden colour reflects into the pond making the image of the temple in water look saintly. Many people gather here for
evening Aarti. Walking around the temple and listening to the chants of mantras is known to heal one's soul.

Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir was erected in the 12th century, during Chola Dynasty, and restored in the 16th century. Featuring
South Indian architecture, the construction was lead by an artist from Rajasthan. An attractive idol of Lord Shiva is placed at the
entrance, followed by a series of steps, which take devotees to Lord Lakshmi Narayan. Disciples also worship the idols of Lord
Ganesha, Lord Garuda (vahana of Lord Lakshmi Narayan) and Lord Kuber here. The height of this temple is 124 feet and hence, can be seen from many parts of the city.
This holy temple is located next to Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple. It's the most exclusive temple in the city as it's built around a
banyan tree, which belongs to pre-Mahabharata period. A big opening in the ceiling allows the branches of the trees to pass through
while a round concrete wall around the bottom prevents roots from expanding that is must to keep the temple structure intact.

The ancient Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva is situated in Thanesar, a holy town in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana. It was here that the Pandavas along with Krishna prayed to Lord Shiva and received his blessings for victory in the battle of Mahabharata.Legend has it a few drops of water from the holy tank connected to it cured the King Ban of leprosy.
